New Venue for Chinese Culture Nights
Dozens of enthusiasts from all over the world yesterday met at Café Cadeau to spend an evening together enjoying affordable Chinese cuisine.
One of the guests, Chingwen Huang, who is an exchange student from the National Chengchi University in Taiwan, went by to find new friends with common interests.
“As soon as I heard about the event on Facebook I decided to go. I think it’s a really good idea. Also for people to try proper Chinese cuisine,” Ms Huang says.
She found herself surrounded by ASP students participating to improve their language skills – something Ms Huang did not expect of the event.
“It’s difficult to find Danes that speak Chinese and it is not an easy language to learn so I think they speak it very well. I heard that the Danes were the happiest people in the world so Denmark quickly became my first priority,” she says adding that she definitely will return to Scandinavia once she has finished her studies in business administration.
According to one of the volunteers of yesterday’s event, which was held as a part of an integration project building bridges between Danes and foreigners, ASP students will have plenty of opportunities to practise their oral Chinese as Café Cadeau is likely to house Chinese evenings each Wednesday.
