Let’s take a further look to find a bit more about this artist that has taken the first place.
Yui is a relatively new Japanese artist. She started out as a street performer in her hometown Fukuoka, but is now a 22-year-old female singer and songwriter. Her first real album came out in 2006 and three further albums followed, the latest in 2008. She may be well-known among anime-watchers since a lot of her songs have been chosen for openings and endings to a lot of popular animes. Furthermore her songs have been featured in movies and dramas too.
Yui’s music is mainly pop or pop/rock and she is often seen performing with an acoustic guitar while singing. Her voice is very soft and a bit “child-like” which gives her song a sweet sound. Her first single that was featured in an anime was “Life” that appeared as ending song in Bleach. A very poppish and sweet song.
The single that got the highest sales is titled “Good-bye Days” and is a calm and sweet song.
Yui’s newest single is called “It’s all too much” and is more pop/rock.
It’s All Too Much
Music-wise not very outstanding or any features that makes her music special, new or experimental, but if you like J-pop, cute Japanese girls’ voices or both, it’s perfect!
